This book pays tribute to our animation elders and provides a brief overview of the essential moments in animation’s rich history. In short, it details what every self-respecting animator, or student of animation, should know. But it is more than a list of names, dates, and times. It is a ‘workbook’ – meaning that it challenges you to reach out and go beyond what is in this book, to further your understanding (and hopefully respect) for the great animators of the past. For this reason, I hope animation teachers everywhere – as well as existing animators and students - can adopt this as a key source of reference for their history of animation classes and knowledge.
